VIARTWORKS.COM - showcase for visual and performing arts was officially launched January 15th, 2006. Although we anticipate much interest from Vancouver Island and west coast residents and businesses, we also welcome global participation.

Our goal with VIARTWORKS.COM (Vancouver Island Art Works) is to provide:
- a showcase for visual & performing arts
- a communication network wherein artisans and performing artists (including songwriters) can advertise their creative works, talent and skills through photos and information submitted to this site
- a photo store (stock photos, prints, photo CDs, screensavers and other photo-related items)
VIEWERS/PURCHASERS:
Viewers:
- may download photos or purchase prints and other photography-related items.
- may locate and contact artisans and performing artists who display photos of their creative works for sale and/or talents/skills for hire.
- may contact the artisans and performing artists:
(1) for further information including purchase of creative works shown in photos on this site
(2) to find photographers, other artisans and performing artists needed for employment or contract work. EMPLOYERS who are Vancouver Island & Gulf Island residents may either contact artists directly from this site.

(IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN A QUALITY WEBSITE THAT ENCOURAGES REPEAT VIEWERS, WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO BE SELECTIVE OF BOTH PARTICIPANTS AND THEIR WORK.)
Introductory offer........Photographers may display and sell stock photos (up to 50 photos at any one time...if you wish to upload more than 50 photos, please contact support at info@viartworks.com), prints and photo-related products free of charge to December 31st, 2009. At that time, if you wish to continue on with us (you are under no obligation to do so), you may do so for a small user fee. A 13% commission is charged by us for handling sales of stock photos, prints, etc. (This includes 10% commission for us plus 3% handling fee). Photographers may post their biographies and contact information, website address plus detailed information about their photos.
Other artisans and artists may display/edit up to 12 photos (at any one time) of their creative works. Potential buyers/interested viewers may contact the artisan directly. Artisans may display/edit photos of their work free of charge to December 31st, 2009. At that time, if you wish to continue on with us, you may do so for a small user fee. You are under no obligation to continue with us. We do not take a commission for any resulting sales. Artisans may post biographies including contact information, website address and detailed information about their Fine Art displayed. Photo descriptions should include item prices, if applicable.
Performing artists,seeking employment and/or commissions, may display portrait photos and/or photos related to their skills & talents +relevent information. Potential employers may contact the performing artist (or group) directly. Performing artists may advertise their skills & talents with photos (up to 6) & information including biographies and contact information & website link free of charge to December 31st, 2009. At that time, if you wish to continue on with us, you may do so for a small user fee. You are under no obligation to continue with us.
We do not charge any fees or take any commission for successful employment. Performing artists (individuals or groups) may post biographies including contact information, website address and detailed information relating to their skills and talents. A current example on our site is the Canadian performing artist, Allison Crowe.
